Anne García-Romero
Anne García-Romero es autora del libro The Fornes Frame: Contemporary Latina Playwrights and the Legacy of Maria Irene Fornes, editado por la Universidad de Arizona (2016), analiza las obras de seis destacadas dramaturgas Latinas en los EEUU. Sus obras de teatro han sido presentadas en el Public Theatre (Nueva York), el Goodman Theatre (Chicago), el Mark Taper Forum (Los Angeles, California), el Los Angeles Theatre Center, y el South Coast Repertory (Los Angeles, California). Sus creaciones de teatro han sido publicadas por las editoriales Broadway Play Publishing, NoPassport Press y Playscripts. Recibió una beca de Notre Dame Internacional y de la Fundación Luksic, para dictar un curso sobre la creación colaborativa, en la Escuela de Teatro de la Pontificia Universidad Católica, en el año 2018. Ese año, presentó su obra Paloma en el Instituto Chileno-Norteamericano de Cultura de Santiago, dirigida por Coca Duarte. Estando en Chile, comenzó una investigación sobre dramaturgas contemporáneas en Chile y Argentina. Doctora en Estudios Teatrales en la Universidad de California, Santa Barbara, Máster de Dramaturgia en la Universidad de Yale y actualmente académica del Departamento de Cine, Televisión y Teatro de la Universidad de Notre Dame, Indiana, EEUU.
Anne García-Romero is the author of The Fornes Frame: Contemporary Latina Playwrights and the Legacy of Maria Irene Fornes, published by the University of Arizona (2016), which analyzes the work of six award-winning U.S. Latina playwrights. Her plays have been developed and produced at The Public Theatre (New York), The Goodman Theatre (Chicago), The Mark Taper Forum (Los Angeles, California), The Los Angeles Theatre Center, and South Coast Repertory (Los Angeles, California). Her plays are published by Broadway Play Publishing, NoPassport Press, and Playscripts. In 2018, she received a grant from Notre Dame International and the Luksic Foundation to teach a course in Devised Performance at the Pontifical Catholic University of Chile, School of Theater. That year, she presented her play Paloma at the Chilean-North American Institute of Culture in Santiago, directed by Coca Duarte. While in Chile, she commenced a research project on the work of contemporary female playwrights in Chile and Argentina. She received her Ph.D. in Theatre Studies from the University of California, Santa Barbara and her M.F.A. in Playwriting from Yale University. She is currently an Associate Professor in the Department of Film, Television and Theatre at the University of Notre Dame, Indiana, U.S.A.
