David Pledger

David Pledger is an artist, curator, thinker, and writer working at the intersection of art-forms and sectors. He regularly presents ideas and art projects in Australia, Asia, and Europe. He is currently attached to various adventures including the cultural provocation 2970°, the annual happening Hoteling, the performance event Meaninglessness, the Asian Dramaturgs’ Network, and the curatorial activities of philanthropic maverick, Igniting Change. He recently completed a PhD at the School of Architecture and Design (SIAL), RMIT University, on the production of noise and how it affects our corporeal, social, political and cultural systems. He is the founding artistic director of not yet it’s difficult (NYID), one of Australia’s leading interdisciplinary arts companies. David publishes widely in books, magazines, and journals on matters of artistic practice, cultural policy, social commentary, arts activism, and international cultural relations.
