Andy Smith

Andy Smith has a history of making work for theatre that tries to reflect on, address, and think towards notions of socio-political action and change. Most recently this includes the plays The Preston Bill and SUMMIT, along with the performance work COMMONISM (a collaboration with Amund Sjølie Sveen). Andy has also collaborated closely with Tim Crouch since 2004, co-directing (along with Karl James) plays including An Oak Tree, The Author, and Total Immediate Collective Imminent Terrestrial Salvation, as well as co-writing and performing what happens to the hope at the end of the evening together at The Almeida Theatre in 2013. Andy has been a lecturer in Theatre Practice at The University of Manchester since 2018.
