Meiyin Wang

Meiyin Wang is a producer and curator of performance, partnering with artists to create urgent necessary works that speak to our present moment.  She is currently the Producing Director of The Perelman Center for Performing Arts, in New York. As an independent producer, she has collaborated with Tina Satter/ Half Straddle (Is This A Room); Toshi Reagon (Octavia Butler’s Parable of the Sower);  Pig Iron Theatre Company, The Chekhov Project, and Andrew Ondrejcak. Her previous appointments include Andrew W. Mellon Creative Fellow at University of Washington in Seattle, Director of La Jolla Playhouse’s Without Walls, a site-specific and experiential city-wide commissioning festival in San Diego; and Co-Director of Under the Radar Festival at The Public Theater in New York. In 2013, she led the creation of the Devised Theater Initiative, a program that enhances UTR’s year-round programmatic structure by serving as an incubator for independently produced work. She was the curator of the Park Avenue Armory’s Artist In Residence series, the lead curator of Arts Emerson’s TNT Festival and the artistic associate of Singapore Repertory Theatre.
