Sonia Teuben
Sonia Teuben started her acting career with The Women’s Circus, Yarcstoof Performing Group, and Stretch Theatre Company before joining Back to Back Theatre in 1993.
She has always been a key member of the Back to Back Theatre ensemble, presenting powerful, passionate, intensely emotional, and at times confronting performances. As she says, she is “not afraid of the deep end,” bringing her own unique, and at times highly personal, view of the world to each character she creates.
Sonia co-devised and performed in FOOD COURT touring to six countries, and stars in small metal objects which premiered as part of the 2005 Melbourne International Arts Festival and has since toured to 36 cities around the world. Recently, her artistry has underpinned the development of Back to Back Theatre’s first major film work, ODDLANDS, which is scheduled to broadcast on ABC TV in 2018.
