Mauricio Barría
Mauricio Barría es dramaturgo y teórico del teatro y la performance. Profesor asociado del Departamento de Teatro de la Universidad de Chile. Su obra como dramaturgo ha indagado sobre los vínculos entre palabra y sonoridad, desplazándose en este último tiempo hacia formatos de radioteatro y arte sonoro. Sus últimos trabajos en este campo han sido Echo (2010); trabajo sobre formato de audioguía para el Museo Nacional de Bellas Artes (FONDART, 2009); Irredentos (2013); KafCage para Mall (2015) junto con el artista sonoro Rainer Krause (Fondo de Creación Facultad de Artes, 2015) que propone un audiorecorrido para ser escuchado en centros comerciales; RadioMigrante (2016) que es parte del Proyecto “Radioteatros con Migrantes” (Fondo de Creación Iniciativa Bicentenario). El año 2016 realizó AppRecuerdos, audiorecorrido sobre relatos de memorias sobre sucesos de los 70 y 80 ocurridos en el Centro de Santiago, obra realizada en conjunto con el reconocido colectivo alemán Rimini Protokoll y producida por el Goethe Institut. Este año estrenó su documental sonoro De Luanda a Lumbanga, parte del Proyecto “Paisajes Disonantes: Tres documentales sonoros sobre el pueblo tribal afrodescendiente de Arica y Parinacota” (Fondos Dicrea, 2018) co-realizado junto a Raúl Rodríguez.
Mauricio Barría is a playwright and theorist of theatre and performance. He is associate professor in the department of theatre at the University of Chile. His work as a playwright has investigated the links between word and sound, and has moved into the formats of radio theatre and sound art. His works in this area have been Echo (2010); work on the audio guide for the Museo Nacional de Bellas Artes (the National Museum of Fine Arts) in Santiago, Chile (FONDART recipient, 2009); Irredentos (Unredeemed, 2013); KafCage para Mall (2015), with sound artist Rainer Krause (School of the Arts Creation Fund, 2015), which proposes an audiowalk to be listened to in malls; and RadioMigrante (2016), part of the “Radio Theater with Migrants” Project (Bicentennial Initiative Creation Fund). In 2016 he created AppRecuerdos (MemoryApp), an audiowalk involving the retelling of memories from the 1970s and 1980s in downtown Santiago, Chile, created with the renowned German collective Rimini Protokoll and produced by the Goethe Institute. That same year he premiered his sound documentary De Luanda a Lumbanga, part of the project “Dissonant Landscapes: Three Sound Documentaries about the Tribal Afro-descendent People of Arica and Parinacota” (Dicrea Fund, 2018), co-created with Raúl Rodríguez.
