Mish Grigor
Mish Grigor is a maker, writer, and performer from Australia, who has been based in Melbourne since 2017.
She is co-director of POST (formed in 2003) a company who work between popular entertainment and experimental art practices. Their most recent work Ich Nibber Dibber was a Sydney Festival/Campbelltown Arts Centre commission, and in 2018 will be performed at Sydney Opera House and Malthouse Theatre.
Previously, Oedipus Schmoedipus, a commission from Belvoir St Theatre and Sydney Festival, toured regionally across Australia in 2018 and will soon be produced in Cantonese for The Black Box Festival, Hong Kong.
Other career highlights include Who’s The Best?, a Sydney Theatre Company commission that toured to capital cities nationally through Performing Lines’ initiative ‘Mobile States’, and then to the Netherlands for Noorderzon Festival.
Mish also has an active solo practice. The Talk has toured extensively after its premiere for Field Theory’s ‘Site Is Set’ season. It has sold out through the UK, touring to Forest Fringe (Edinburgh), Buzzcut (Glasgow), The Marlborough (Brighton), and Battersea Arts Centre (London). In Australia it was presented by Performance Space for Liveworks 2017, and will soon travel to Darwin Festival. Mish was awarded an Australia Council Experimental Arts Residency to travel to EMPAC in New York from November 2017 – February 2018.
As a curator, Mish spent many years at the centre of Sydney’s underground arts scenes. In 2017 she curated ‘Contemporary Contemporary Contemporary’, a season of works across dance, film, and performance; supported by City of Sydney Council. Mish was one of the co-directors of the Quarterbred ARI, and was co-director of Imperial Panda and Tiny Stadiums.
